Hello my name is Carlos Ribeiro. I was born on 9th June 1986 in Porto Felgueiras, a village in northern Portugal. After finishing my studies I moved to Andorra where I continued my discovery and interest in Art, painting and collage. I am passionate about Nature, sensitive to everything that surrounds me. I found in Collage my form of expression as an artist. In my collages I can show the world what goes on inside my soul, where I give people my surreal and Magical World, some of my creations were inspired by the art of Salvador Dali and van Gogh. Art has always been my true passion, and in art I find myself. In this moment I am working between London and Lisbon.
Each of my paintings is built by small parts of me. They always start with a cutout of an image that I see in a moment: the image that catches my attention the most, the feeling at that moment when I cut it out. I keep each figure as part of me, when I feel inspired so I let myself be carried away by the moment and start by overlaying piece by piece and letting what I feel at that moment guide me and take me as far away from reality as possible. The collage for me is a journey where I can be whoever I want, a meeting of past lives, a journey to the future. Each painting is born from different individual feelings, a set of emotions which allow myself to meet the unknown. The collage for me is a way to free myself from all my demons and passions. It is my way of expression.
